Why people choose Walti

Walti stays out of your way. There's nothing to set up before your first entry: enter an amount and save it in a few seconds, with the category, note and payment method there when you want them. Hold the + button to log something you buy often again, or open a new entry from the Lock Screen, Control Center or the Action Button on iOS 18 or later.

Your income goes in the same way, so Overview can show what you've spent and what's left of your budget. Rent, subscriptions and paydays are set up once and added only when you confirm them. Widgets on the Home and Lock Screen show the month without opening the app, and Analytics compares your spending, income and net over three, six or twelve months. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, a photo of a receipt fills in the store, total, date and category, and the receipt is read on the phone itself. There's no account to keep up and nothing to sign in to.

Private by design

Walti has no account, no bank connection and no cloud sync. Your records are stored on the device you use, the app contains no ads or analytics code, and its App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected”. To move to a new device, export a backup file from Settings and import it there; if you use iCloud Backup, your Walti data is part of that device backup too.

When Spendee makes more sense

Spendee makes more sense if you need shared wallets, Android or web access, or transactions imported from a supported bank. If those aren't part of how you handle money, Walti gives you a simpler place to keep track of everyday spending, with your records on your device.

Starting fresh with Walti

Walti doesn't import Spendee data. If you're happy to begin with this month, choose your currency, set a budget and add the payments that repeat, such as rent, subscriptions and your payday. From then on you note what you spend as it happens.

What's free

Logging expenses and income, the monthly budget, history, trends, widgets and backups are free, along with three recurring expenses and three receipt scans, and there are no ads. Premium is a one-time purchase that adds unlimited receipt scanning and recurring expenses, budgets per category, your own categories and payment methods, full analytics, Excel and CSV export, and every accent theme. There's no subscription.

Common questions

Can I use Walti without an account?

Yes. There's no sign-up at all. You open the app and start logging, and your records are stored on your device.

Can I bring my Spendee data into Walti?

Not directly. Walti doesn't import Spendee data, so most people start with the current month; you can add older entries by hand if you want them.

Does Walti work on Android or the web?

No. Walti runs on iPhone and iPad. It doesn't sync, so each device keeps its own records; you can copy them across with a backup file.
