Privacy Policy

Walti is an expense tracker for iPhone. It is built so that your financial information never leaves your device. This policy explains what that means in practice.

The short version

Walti has no account system, no server, and no analytics or third-party tracking SDKs. The expenses, categories, notes, and settings you enter are stored only on your device. We never see them.

Data stored on your device

Everything you create in Walti — expense amounts, dates, titles, notes, categories, currency, language, and appearance preferences — is saved locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device database. It is shared with the Walti Home Screen widgets through a private Apple “app group” container that only Walti and its widgets can read. This data is included in your device's encrypted backups if you have iCloud Backup or local backups enabled; that backup is governed by Apple, not by us.

Purchases

Walti Premium is a one-time in-app purchase. The purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Walti receives only a confirmation from Apple that the purchase is active — it does not receive or store your name, email, or payment details. Apple's handling of the transaction is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

If you contact us

The “Send feedback” option opens your email app with a message addressed to us. If you choose to send it, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to improve the app, and we do not share it with anyone.

Analytics and tracking

Walti contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. We do not build a profile of you and we have nothing to sell. Apple may collect aggregate, non-identifying diagnostics (such as crash reports) at the system level depending on your device settings; this is provided to us by Apple in anonymised form and can be turned off in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Walti is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them. Since the app collects no personal data on our side, this is true for users of every age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
